Hebrews 1

Hebrews 1
3 – Christ Is The Radiance Of God’s Glory
3The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
Notes: Christ is God…He has the same glorious nature and perfections…He has the same nature and is the same person. The Father is God and Christ is as well.
8-9 – The Lord Loves Righteousness
8But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
Notes: “righteousness will be the scepter” – A scepter declaring mercy, grace, and love of God to men through Christ. A scepter that reveals and directs to us to the righteousness of Christ. A scepter that encourages us to do works of righteousness.
“loved righteousness and hated wickedness” – Christ loves righteous people and righteous works, faithfulness, integrity, a just administration of government, and everything that is holy, just, and good. Christ hates iniquity, or unrighteousness, or wickedness. The Lord’s hatred of it will be shown on judgment day when all workers of iniquity, professors and profane will be sent away from Him into hell.
14 – Angels Are Here To Serve The Lord
14Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
Note: Angels are servants of the Lord our God and therefore are inferior to Him. Angel’s are to be respected and esteemed, but not worshipped.
