Pain and Suffering (A)
A. Our Hardship Produces an Eventual Good That He Has Planned
When most of us face struggles and trials and suffering, we could never imagine good emerging form them. But it did in the case of Jesus, and we can trust it will in our case too. Many great Christians throughout history seem to say that their sufferings ended up bringing them the closest to God – so this is the best thing that could happen, not the worst.
*God is so wise and loving that He knows that we need some pain for reasons which we may not understand but which He foresees as being necessary for some eventual good.
So we should never whine that He doesn’t love or care for us because He allows pain in our life to exist. There is something good coming…even though we may not ever see it. He will use our pain and suffering for His purposes.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
